The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the world governing body for cricket.
The ICC is responsible for the organisation and governance of cricket’s major international tournaments.
Accredit Solutions began its relationship with the ICC after providing the accreditation system for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, the Women’s World Cup 2017 and the Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019, held across England and Wales. Since then, Accredit Solutions has gone on to deliver the end-to-end accreditation project for the ICC delivering the T20 Women’s World Cup 2020 in Australia, the U19s Men’s World Cup 2022 in the West Indies, the Women’s World Cup 2022 in New Zealand, and the T20 Men’s World Cup 2022 in Australia.
The ICC required a supplier that not only supplied an accreditation system but also had experience in how to manage an end-to-end accreditation project.
These requirements included:
project management
stakeholder engagement
data collection and remediation
design and procurement of secure materials
training
staff provision and management
accreditation onsite operations
The ICC required a supplier that could deliver on all these aspects on time and within a defined budget. They also required a supplier that had the experience of delivering accreditation successfully for events, in multi-venues and in different regions around the world.
Accredit Solutions have worked on the ICC major events since 2017 and has developed a good level of knowledge within the international cricket sector through clients including the England and Wales Cricket Board, Cricket Australia, New Zealand Cricket and West Indies Cricket.
It was also beneficial that Accredit had an office in Australia, providing the capability to work within the necessary time zones to give support as required.
Accredit Solutions mapped out the operational requirements of the project for the ICC events, providing a secure accreditation plan to ensure the successful delivery of the accreditation for the event, including incorporating background checks for all personnel.
This plan would lay out all the processes and procedures which were reviewed and signed off by the ICC. All approved supplies were procured from trusted parters in the region or around the world.
The service provided went further than just the accreditation platform. Accredit Solutions supplied the complete team to deliver the accreditation strategy and process, as well as including the data collection and remediation and production of the badges. The team worked with all the stakeholder groups across the ICC, media, broadcast, venue staff and contractors to ensure a successful delivery and execution of the accreditation process, which continued through to the on-site delivery and management of the venue accreditation centres across all venues.
Accredit Solutions were able to identify any potential challenges and proactively find solutions and provide full transparency throughout the project on all activities and tasks.
Accredit Solutions have successfully delivered accreditation for the T20 Women’s event in 2020 before going on to deliver two more ICC events in 2022 in the U19s Men’s World Cup and Women’s World Cup in West Indies and New Zealand respectively.
Both events were challenging as they took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, which was a troubled time for all sporting competitions. Accredit Solutions was able to deliver both events successfully.
In total Accredit Solutions delivered 23 matches at six venues across Australia for the T20 Women’s World Cup and a further 31 matches across six venues for the Women’s World Cup in New Zealand in 2022. While the U19’s World Cup saw a total of 48 matches spread across 10 venues located in Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana, St Kitts and Nevis, and Trinidad and Tobago.
Most recently, Accredit Solutions worked on delivering 45 matches across 7 venues for the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup 2022 in Australia taking place in October and November.
