Meet Doug Ingels
Say hello to Doug Ingels
How did you start working with Accredit?
I had worked with Jenn Reaves in past and was looking for other opportunities. We were able to connect during the summer of 2021 and I started in September.
What does your role entail at Accredit?
As a client services manager, I work with clients from the initiation meetings, event/accreditation planning and training, execution of the event or season, and finally monitoring and updating all aspects of the accreditation process.
Tell us something interesting about yourself?
I can solve a Rubik’s cube in about 2 minutes.
What is your biggest personal or professional achievements?
I am set to become a first-time father in April and look forward to being the best parent I can be.
If you could change something from your past what would it be?
Each opportunity in the past has been a learning experience and based on those moments, I’ve grown to be who I am. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Who is the person you admire the most and why?
I most admire my wife, Jill. She is one of the hardest working and smartest people I’ve ever been around. She is someone who has big professional and personal aspirations and pushes me to be a better person every day.
How would your friends describe you?
I like to think of myself as a humble person, so I asked a friend. They said: “Funny, laid back, enjoyable, but a straight shooter.”
How do you think the accreditation process for events will evolve in the coming year?
COVID-19 has thrown a wrench in event planning for the last couple years and I hope we are close to seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
What is the most interesting project you have worked on in your time at Accredit?
The 2021 World Table Tennis Championships
What is your favourite functionality aspect of the Accredit platform?
I find the Wireless Access Control application to be my favorite. It takes credentialing to the next level and improves the security of our credentialing process.
If you could spend 5 minutes with any person alive or dead who would it be and why?
My answer here would be different if the premise was “have a drink with…” or “have dinner with…” but 5 minutes is a very short period of time. Because of that, I would say a modern industry leader like Warren Buffett who could impart some quick wisdom or tips on how to build/grow/succeed on a large scale.
Tell us a joke
What’s the best thing about Switzerland? Many things, the food, the people but most of all the flag is a big plus.
Time to talk?
To organise a time to talk about how your system can be adapted to increase the safety of your events when lockdown restrictions are eased, please request a system demo or drop us a line on the details below and we’ll schedule in a time to discuss what you need.
